I went to a softball game in Fairfax during the fair to meet David for the first time. We had talked online but had never meet and I decided to just show up. I was actually there the night before with my brother in law and he talked to David (who was highly intoxicated) while I mingled with other locals. They decided we would meet the next day but I got to spend the night before seeing how he interacted with everyone around him. It was months before I told him about this night! We went back to my sisters house and had supper and talked (Sam did most of the talking :)) and then exchanged phone numbers to set up a time to go out.

David and I decided we would go on our first date at the Tarkio Golf Course. I had never golfed in my life! I was more worried about what I was suppose to wear and being a shy person I was worried about going by myself! We started golfing (mainly David trying to show me how but it wasn't going very well) and then David's friend Richard caught up to us so he joined us. That helped with the lack of conversation. After golfing we went back to his house and I meet his mom and sister and was invited to go to Chuck-E-Cheese the next day for his nephew Dayton's birthday. I have never been a cheese eater but I didn't want to be a pain so I ate pizza and what do you know I liked it! We ended up spending most of that labor day weekend together and withing a few weeks I was staying down at my sister's in Fairfax so that we could see each other more. I soon moved to Tarkio.

We had been talking about getting married and we decided to go buy rings! We set that date for September 1, 2007 because that was the date of our first date. It seems like I can remember everything about that evening. We went to Zales and then we went to Chili's to eat and I remember I was just glowing. We went back to Tarkio and went and showed David's mom and sister and they were very happy for us! The next day we had family Christmas with David's mom's side and I meet everyone and we got to show off my ring! It was the best way to end a year!

We were sitting in the Ice House waiting for the Doctor to call my mom about her results from her lump in her breast. They had done a biopsy and he was to call with news. I had cried and cried and cried for the days and weeks leading up to this. My mom can't have cancer, she needs to be here for me when I have babies, to be their grandma. Well the phone rang and my mom answered...my worst nightmare has come true. My mom has cancer and will have to have it removed very soon. I stayed strong until we left and then I felt like my world shattered. I don't remember the exact date but do know it was within the week or 2 of our wedding my mom had her first surgery and then another after our honeymoon to get more tissue. She would undergo chemo and radiation all the while working her regular full time job. As of this post she is 4 years and 9 months cancer free!

I married my best friend! We had a small ceremony at the First Baptist Church in Tarkio and a reception to follow on September 22. I was so nervous walking down that isle. Not because I didn't know what was next but because I don't like to be the center of attention. We left that night and went to St Joe for supper at Whisky Creek and then on the KC for the night. From there we went down to Osage Beach (where it was rainy a lot of the time) and we did some shopping, a little site seeing and just enjoyed each others company. No phone and no outside contact! It was so nice to just have time with each other.

David was suppose to be picking me up to go to the doctor with him for a cold and he called me and told me John had died. John was David's uncle (his dad's brother) and was more then an uncle for David after he lost his dad at such a young age. Our world was turned upside down. Not only did his uncle pass away suddenly but we were suddenly faced with the fact that he had willed his farm to David and Kellie. David's dream was to be a farmer but not now. He still wanted more time with John, to learn more from him, for him to be there when we have children just like he has been for his other nieces and nephews. Our life from here on out would be forever changed and we are very very blessed with the gift John has given us. We would not be who we are today without him.

I have been having pain on my right side for a few weeks now and I have done my WebMD searching and it looks like it would be my gallbladder. David and I went to see Dr Burke and I told him my symptoms and he asks me when my last period was. It had been 7 weeks but my periods were no regular and I wasn't "late" yet. He had me lay back and felt my stomach and then asked me to get him a urine sample. I think I was in a bit of denial because I have taken a lot of pregnancy tests by this point and I know how they turn out. I hadn't been back in the room long and David and I looked at each other and said does he really think I am pregnant? In comes Dr Burke and he tosses a pregnancy test on the bed! It has 2 lines! 2 lines! I couldn't believe there was a little life growing in me! We drove to Clarinda to tell my parents and then went and told David's mom! We went to the hospital the next day for a ultrasound to confirm and then we went and told Sam and David called Kellie. Everyone was so happy for us!

Our beautiful baby girl came into the world after less than 3 hours at the hospital and an hour of pushing at 11:44am weighing 6lbs 12oz 19 inches long just over 3 weeks early. Her baby shower was scheduled for that Saturday so she just didn't want to miss it! I think I fell in love twice that day, once again with David seeing him hold his daughter for the first time and once with my new baby girl! She was perfect a head full of dark hair, beautiful blue eyes, chubby cheeks and her daddy's chin! March 10th was also David's parents wedding anniversary so I have a feeling we had a little help from above to help brighten Mary Anne's day :).

We have decided to try to have a baby again! It took us 6 months with Delainee so if all goes right they would be a little over 2 years apart (just like me and Sam). We now knew that it may not happen right away but 6-12 months is a very reasonable time frame.
These are not all of the important things that have happened but the main ones or I would be here a long time writing! These days and years have shaped me into who I am today.
